Ar. Mel C. Punsalan speaks at the GREEEN professionals meeting in Sydney Hotel, General Santos City last February 8, 2019. In attendance were some members of GREEEN Auditors-Batch 8 and members of UAP SOCKSARGEN Chapter.
Punsalan presented updates on the achievements and directions of PGBI and its GREEEN Program including BeQ (Building Energy Quotient )and EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies). An orientation on the Zero Energy Building (ZEB) was also presentedAlso in attendance were Engr. Aurea Pascual, City Building Official; Engr. Riza Marie Paches, Special Committee on Transport Concerns; and Engr. Marjorie Cartojano, General Santos City Tourism Council.
The formation of a chapter in the area (GenSan and Davao as base) was supported by the group led by Ar. Michael Ang, Member of the Board of Trustees and Convenor for GREEEN seminars in the area. The possibility of staging a Mindanao Conference on Sustainability was discussed, too. Ar. Ang has endorsed the GREEEN rating system, within the green building ordinance that the LGU is currently formulating.
