EDGE NEWS UPDATE: NOW THERE ARE THREE WAYS TO CERTIFY WITH EDGE

Now there are three ways to certify your project with EDGE. Once you’ve reached 20% savings in water and embodied energy in materials, choose your level of energy savings depending on your aspirations: EDGE Certified (“the original”): Achieve the minimum standard of 20% in energy, water and embodied energy in materials. EDGE Advanced: Earn 40% or more energy savings for a higher level of recognition, with at least 20% savings in water and materials. Zero Carbon: Go all the way to carbon neutral with 40% or more energy savings on-site, achieving 100% through renewables or topping off with carbon offsets. For more details, visit the Certify webpage:

All EDGE-certified projects are meaningful in terms of the resources they protect and their estimated utility savings. The purpose of EDGE Advanced and Zero Carbon certification is to acknowledge those projects that are exceptional. It’s also to remind us that all new buildings need to be zero carbon by 2030 and all new and existing buildings must be zero carbon by 2050 if we’re to do our part in keeping rising temperatures below 2 degrees. Projects that have achieved EDGE Advanced are reflected as such on their Project Studies (please be certain to clear the cache first on your web browser for viewing purposes), with modified certificates available for downloading from the client’s dashboard. Should you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at edge@ifc.org. We hope you’re excited about these new certification products, and thank you as always for your ongoing support of EDGE. - The EDGE Team
