ASCOTT Makati has achieved EDGE green building certification from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for its upholding environment-friendly efforts within its property, on February 26.

“Our commitment to EDGE is an acknowledgement of the premium we bring to our guests through sustainable practices,” said Philip Barnes, The Ascott Limited Philippines’ area head for Luzon. “Ascott Makati’s EDGE certification will pave the way for more properties to be certified under this international green benchmark that has great potential for the serviced residence industry.”

With an increasing global demand by corporate clients for properties with green features, the obtaining of EDGE certification status by Ascott Makati is a game changer in the industry.

EDGE is an innovative green building certification system that helps reduce a building’s energy and water consumption and decrease greenhouse-gas emissions, which in turn drives operational efficiency and reduces environmental impacts.

EDGE projects in the Philippines are certified by the Philippine Green Building Initiative, Inc.
